Thank you. Too late for me now, I already hacked something together myself.

I took a quick look at I and noticed that you're forking a new process
for each connection.
Did you ever test it with a lot of clients?
I did a quick test of my hacked version which is single threaded
(using libevent) on my desktop system (Intel Q9300 CPU) and it was
working fine for up to 300 clients (1,7Gbit/s).
